Türkiye reports first monkeypox case

Turkish Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca announced that the first case of monkeypox was detected in Türkiye.

It was also reported that the patient was 37 years old and had an immune system deficiency.

The very first monkeypox case was detected in Türkiye.

The statement came from the Minister of Health of the Republic of Turkey, Fahrettin Koca.

Contact tracing has been carried out and no other cases have been reported” Koca said. The virus is transmitted through sustained physical contact not through the respiratory tract, warned Turkish Health Minister Fahrettin Koca.
