Mayor of Turkish Municipality Mehmet Harmancı spoke of the difficulties experienced due to the price hikes in diesel fuel.
Harmancı complained that it was not possible to carry out work with such a price hike of 27TL of diesel fuel. Even collecting rubbish will be impossible with the current price hikes, he said. Harmancı also criticized the municipalities union stating that the structure of the union was not working in harmony. “With the increasing prices of diesel fuel, I believe we will need to begin austerity measures from public institutions”, Harmancı is cited as saying.
