5 arrested in 2 separate narcotic raids

It was reported that five people were arrested following two police operations carried out yesterday by the Narcotics and Smuggling Prevention team.

According to a police report, a cocaine-type drug weighing approximately 50 grams, and a cannabis-type drug weighing around 40 grams were confiscated from a vehicle following a police operation (Crossroad-2 operation) from the Prevention of Narcotics and Smuggling team at 4:30 pm on the Lefkoşa-Gaziköy main road.
Meanwhile, 150 Euro and 3,000 TL cash, believed to have been obtained from the sale of drugs, were confiscated for further inquiries.
The person in question was arrested and during the search made in his residence in Vadili, a cannabis-type drug weighing approximately 95 grams and a cocaine-type drug weighing approximately 8 grams were taken for further inquiries.
Following further enquiries, a search was carried out at another individual’s residence in Gazimağusa believed to have links to the operation. Two grams of a cannabis-type drug were detected and confiscated, following the arrest.
In another incident, police who stopped a vehicle in a traffic offence detected 2 grams of synthetic cannabinoid and a burning wrap cigarette with a synthetic cannabinoid type drug in Gemikonağı at around 3.40 pm and arrested two people in a (one-way operation).
