Başçeri “Only just existence of Turkey and TRNC can bring peace and stability”

“Everyone should accept that no balance in the Eastern Mediterranean without the just existence of Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus can bring peace and stability”, stressed the  Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Nicosia, Ali Murat Başceri.

Celebrations to mark the 99th Anniversary of the Proclamation of the Republic of Türkiye has started with the televised speech of the Turkish Ambassador to Nicosia, Ali Murat Başçeri, on BRT, and the firing of the of 21 gun salute.

Referring to the historical call of Türkiye’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the United Nations General Assembly in September towards the end of the oppression of Turkish Cypriots, who are under isolations and embargoes in contradiction with the principles of the United Nations, and the recognition of TRNC , he underlined  that constitutes the main axis of their policies.

“We are proud of celebrating the 99th anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic which is the symbol of independence and guarantee of our future” he stated.

Başçeri  thanked to Turkish Cypriot people who had shared their enthusiasm and happiness with all their hearts and celebrated that day since 1923 and “Happy Republic day” he said.

Touching upon the Cyprus issue during his speech, Başçeri reiterated that  fair, permanent and sustainable solution to Cyprus issue can only be reached by the acceptance  of the sovereign equality and equal international status, which are the vested rights of the Turkish Cypriot people.

“We fully support the will of TRNC in that way” he said.
