A 4.9 magnitude earthquake shook Cyprus early on Friday just off the coast of Larnaca. It was felt by people across the island.
According to the department of geological survey, the earthquake was recorded at 4.40am with an epicentre in the sea of Cyprus, 20 kilometres southwest of Paralimni and 45kilometers deep in the marine zone of Xylofafou.
No damages were reported on both sides of the island.
