Türkiye delegation will discuss the financial protocol in North Cyprus

A delegation from Türkiye will be arriving in North Cyprus today, in line with the Economic and Financial Cooperation protocol to be discussed tomorrow.

Prime Ministry Undersecretary Hüseyin Amcaoğlu gave information regarding the Turkish delegation’s visit to North Cyprus during a program he attended on BRT today.

Amcaoğlu said that an exchange of views regarding work at many institutions in the North Cyprus will be discussed at the technical meetings to be held between the delegations of both countries.

He said that financial issues put forward in a report in Ankara will be taken up and discussions will be held on the work that has been done, other problems that have been experienced such as financial problems, problems in the Agriculture and Animal Husbandry sector, budget issues and the transfer of resources listed in the protocol.

Hüseyin Amcaoğlu also referred to the tourism sector and said that they will have the opportunity to see whether the increase in Turkish Airline flights has or has not had an impact on lowering airline ticket prices. He also reminded of the proposal put forward for changes to be adopted for TRNC students with an A ‘level’ to be eligible for the Foreign Language exam as of this year. Amcaoğlu also referred to other proposals put forward by the TRNC such as the issue of changing the currency on prices of ship transportation to TL instead of Dollar. We will discuss all of these issues and receive information on the proposals, he said. Lastly referring to the suggestion on the private sector, such as the request for low-interest rates, the Prime Ministry Undersecretary Hüseyin Amcaoğlu said that these issues will be evaluated between the delegations of Türkiye and the TRNC on Thursday.
