The National Unity Party leader Faiz Sucuoğlu has resigned from his post as party leader.
In a written statement, Sucuoğlu referred to the latest developments experienced within the party and said that maintaining a double-headed situation no longer made a positive contribution and was also creating problems within the party.
“Even though I am not responsible for all the troubles, as a brother who loves his country and party, I cannot turn a blind eye to my party experiencing a deadlock therefore I am resigning from my post,” Sucuoğlu said.
“I entered politics to give a service to my people, but I cannot continue if I am unable to provide a service to my people, this does not suit my character” was the words written in his resignation.
Noting that he had resigned as party leader, Sucuoğlu said that he was still devoted to his party and politics and added that he will continue to serve his party and his people.
