Sea phase of the Martyr Lieutenant Caner Gönyeli Search and Rescue Exercise has begun

The sea phase of the 2022 Martyr Lieutenant Caner Gönyeli Search and Rescue Exercise kick started at 1 pm today.
The sea phase of the exercise is being conducted off the coast of the Eastern Mediterranean and Gazimağusa in the Turkish search and rescue region with the participation of military and civil elements of the Republic of Türkiye and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
This year, the 18th year exercise will be performing a scenario off Gazimağusa reviving incidents experienced during a collision of a commercial yacht and a Dry Cargo ship carrying many migrants.
The exercise is being observed with the participation of ten military attaches from nine countries.
President Ersin Tatar, Parliamentary Speaker Zorlu Töre, commanders and members of the press are watching the exercise from the TCSG Yaşam corvette.
The start of the 2022 Martyr Lieutenant Caner Gönyeli Search and Rescue Exercise began yesterday at the Boğaz Headquarters with statements to the press by the Commander of the Security Forces Major General Zorlu Topaloğlu followed by a land exercise at St. Hilarion 101 Evler.
