Rules of electric scooters have been published in official gazette

The electric scooter has become legal with the regulation published in the official gazette.
According to the published regulation, ‘Electric Scooter’ has a top speed of 25 km/h, and below 350-watt motor power. It has two wheels, a brake system, a foot platform that you step on called a deck made of non-slip material and handlebars for steering, it comes with at least one LED headlight and a brake-activated tail light that lightens at least 20 meters ahead and a reflector, it also has a horn loud enough to be heard from 30 meters away.

“Rules and Regulations to be followed for an electric scooter”
1. Prohibited for persons under 18.
2. Electric scooters cannot be used on highways between cities with a maximum speed limit of over 50km/h.
3. If possible, users should ride scooters on bicycle lanes, otherwise on the left side of the road without risking traffic safety rules.
4. Other than the rider, passengers are not allowed on electric scooters.
5. Other than a backpack, no other items are allowed to be carried.
6. Electric scooters should not be used side-by-side on roads.
7. It is forbidden to ride scooters on sidewalks.
8. It is forbidden to attach electric scooters to another vehicle or to be pulled by holding on to another vehicle.
9. Riders should use both hands while using a scooter. It is forbidden to ride an electric scooter with one hand.
10. It is forbidden to do acrobatic movements while riding a scooter.
11. Forbidden parking places for electric scooters will be determined at registration.
