Relocation process of the new Central Prison has been completed.. All inmates have been moved

Prime Minister Ünal Üstel said that the relocation process of the Central Prison to a new building, which started in July, has been completed and that all inmates have been moved to the new prison.

Üstel told to the media during his visit to the new Central Prison that a tender for the facility was launched in 2017; however, despite its completion, it was unable to be used.

Expressing that they first discussed the Penal Code and passed it through Parliament, Prime Minister Üstel reminded that the government started to take action in May, and said that they told the relocation process would start on July 1, and that the relocation process started in July.

Stating that they first passed the law, which was a major deficiency, to open the new prison, and then they completed the missing number of guards, Üstel said, “Today, November 1, we completed all the relocation procedures” and noted that all prisoners were moved to the new prison.

Expressing that with the completion of the project, a very valuable and modern prison has been achieved, fully financed by the motherland Republic of Türkiye costing 350 million TL, Prime Minister Üstel noted that the UBP-DP-YDP government has continued its performance since the day the coalition was formed.

Üstel said that from the first day they took office, they fulfilled what was written in the government programme one by one.

Pointing out that they said they would deal with the accumulated problems in the country, solve them and carry out reforms that were not dared in the past, Prime Minister Üstel emphasised that today is one of those days.

Üstel added that this is not the first time that the projects financed by the motherland Republic of Türkiye have come in a row.
