“People are losing out on tens of thousands of TL”

The Republican Turkish Party (CTP) leader Tufan Erhürman stated that many Cyprus Turkish youth are making plans to immigrate to other countries adding that they will reverse the structure in North Cyprus and tell those responsible that they should go.
Following visits to civil society organisations, and economic and professional organisations, regarding the democratic and economic impoverishment in the country, CTP leader Erhürman exchanged views with the Cooperative Employees Union (Koop-Sen) and the Telecommunications Department Workers Union (Tel-Sen) yesterday.
Erhürman was accompanied by deputies of parliament during the visits.
“SUGGESTİONS WHİCH ARE KNOWN NOT TO BE ACCEPTED ARE BEİNG PROPOSED”
The CTP leader Erhürman criticized the Cyprus Turkish leadership for suggesting proposals which are known not to be internationally accepted instead of negotiating Confidence Building Measures (CBM). Referring to the proposals of opening Ercan Airport to direct flights and the lifting of restrictions on the Gazimağusa Port, Erhürman said that these proposals were not enough and that other proposals should be put to the table.
Underlining the importance of emphasis being made on paving the way for some exports that are not being applied to the Green Line Regulation, he said that North Cyprus and Türkiye could be included in the interconnection work of Cyprus with Israel.
Unfortunately, the Cyprus Turkish leader Ersin Tatar is continuing to speak his mind and is putting forward some proposals which we know will be refused, Erhürman said adding that if the ground for a federal solution is not put forward then the negotiations for Confidence Building Measures will not be productive.
