Parliamentary Assembly has unanimously approved the resignation of the leader of the Peoples Party (HP), Lefkoşa MP Kudret Özersay from parliament.
While eight deputies did not attend the vote, 42 deputies voted in favour of the decision. HP deputies Ayşegül Baybars and Jale Refik Rogers were not present during the voting session of the General Assembly.
While Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, National Unity Party (UBP) Deputy Chairman Özdemir Berova, and Rebirth Party leader (YDP) Erhan Arıklı rejected the decision, the Democrat Party leader (DP) Fikri Ataoğlu wished the best on his decision.
