Türkiye Vice President Fuat Oktay said that the fleet of the drilling vessel has been strengthened, “The Abdülhamid Han drilling vessel, with its ability to drill 12 thousand 200 metres has an important role in conducting effective research in the blue waters. Oktay stated that if there is to be a solution in Cyprus this can only be possible with the registration of sovereign equality and equal international status of the Cyprus Turkish people. “The two states on this precious unique island should determine together how they will reach consensus and what kind of future they will build side by side during the negotiations. Referring to the areas that were affected by the recent fire in North Cyprus, Oktay reminded of Turkiye’s support of the 1 million saplings to be planted in the destroyed areas. “We have begun preliminary work, the saplings will be planted in the most suitable time”, he said.

Also referring to the Maraş (Varosha), Oktay said that Maraş was Cyprus-Turkish property.
