The Minimum Wage Determination Commission in North Cyprus will convene to discuss the objections proposed toward the new minimum wage.
The meeting will take place at the Ministry of Labour and Social Security today at 11 am.
Meanwhile, the Federation of Workers’ Trade Union (Hür-Iş) and union representatives under the federation have announced that they will be carrying out a support action in front of the Ministry of Labour and Social Security ahead of the meeting.
Head of Hür-Iş Ahmet Serdaroğlu said: “the new minimum wage should have been set at 9 thousand 540TL in line with the increase in the cost of living. These ratios were calculated by the Prime Ministry Statistical Institute, not by Hür-Iş. The hunger borderline is obvious. We invite government officials and employers to at least have a conscience”
