Education Minister Çavuşoğlu met with Nigerian students

Minister of National Education Nazım Çavuşoğlu stated that they will not allow students to be engaged in unsuitable activities, whilst studying in North Cyprus and spoil the country and affect other studying students.
The Press Office of the Ministry of National Education reports that Minister Çavuşoğlu received a representative of Nigerian students, the head of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Kingsley Ifeanyi Nweke and the association delegation.
Çavuşoğlu said that some Nigerian names have appeared in judicial cases lately and that this has greatly upset him. It does not make a difference, be it a part of society or a student, everyone is obligated to follow the rules of law in the country, the minister said.
Çavuşoğlu referred to the liability of protecting all students that come to North Cyprus to receive quality education and added, “We want students to come here. We do not want people with other intentions to come to our country,” he said.
Referring to the news and statements issued in Nigeria, Minister Çavuşoğlu said that the claims made did not reflect the truth and that he was deeply upset. Çavuşoğlu refuted the claims and said that no Turkish Cypriot had harmed any student and that North Cyprus was a trustworthy education island. The statements put forward were made intentionally, the Minister of National Education Nazım Çavuşoğlu said.
For his part, the head of the National Association of Nigerian Students Kingsley Ifeanyi Nweke said that the claims made were baseless and that no such problem had been experienced by Turkish Cypriots adding that North Cyprus was a country free from violence.
Referring to October 1, Nigerian Independence Day, Nweke invited Minister Çavuşoğlu to the event and said that it would be a good opportunity to prevent the overseas falsified image drawn.
