CTP Women’s Organisation sent a letter to UN GS Guterres

The Republican Turkish Party (CTP) Women’s Organisation sent a letter to the United Nations (UN) General Secretary Antonio Guterres in line with the 1st September World Peace Day. The letter called on the UN Secretary-General to take more initiatives for the restart of the Cyprus negotiations process.
The letter by the CTP Women’s Organisation to Guterres stated the women’s determination for a federal solution and peace-making process.
Head of the CTP Women’s Organisation-Lefkoşa Deputy Doğuş Derya and members of the Central Executive Board (CEB) handed the letter written to the UN Secretary-General Guterres to an official of the UN Peace Keeping Force (UNFICYP) at 9 am at the Ledra Palace crossing point today.
Making a statement before handing the letter to the UN official, Derya said that the letter to the UN Secretary-General by the CTP Women’s Organisation was prepared in line with the 1st of September World Peace.
Stating that they are fighting a ‘serious struggle’ in Cyprus on this decision,
Derya explained that although this struggle resulted in the establishment of the Gender Equality Technical Committee in 2015, the committee was not functioning well due to the current inactive negotiation process.
Confidence Building Measures (CBM)…
In the letter, Derya also pointed to the importance of the Confidence Building Measures (CBM) being implemented in a way that serves the federal solution policy and for more initiatives to be launched for the resumption of the negotiations process.
