Republican Turkish Party (CTP) Girne deputy and Central Board Member of Foreign Relations Fikri Toros is visiting Brussels, the capital of Belgium, to hold a series of contacts.
Toros held talks at the European Parliament (EP). Drawing attention to the effects of the ongoing deadlock of the Cyprus negotiations on the island and the region, Fikri Toros emphasized that the European Union (EU), in coordination with the United Nations (UN), should take on a more active role in the process of overcoming the difficulties of reaching a politically equal-based federal solution on the island.
Following a meeting at the European Parliament yesterday, Toros is also expected to attend the European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET) meeting.
Toros will exchange views on enhancing the Turkish Cypriots in the geopolitics of the Eastern Mediterranean and also increasing the EU-Turkish Cypriot community relations.
