Ozan Polat, 19, was seriously injured in a traffic accident in Gönyeli, this morning.
According to a police report, the driver of ZMY 147 registered vehicle who was driving east bound along Atatürk Street in Gönyeli, at the right speed at around 3.30 am, hit taxi driver Ozan Polat who was out of his vehicle arguing with customers in front of the Kolan Hospital in Gönyeli.
Ozan Polat, who was seriously injured as a result of the accident, was taken to Dr Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital in Lefkoşa. The police report that Polat is being kept under observation in the intensive care unit following surgery.
The driver of the vehicle numbered ZMY 147 has been arrested and an investigation is continuing.
