KTOEÖS and KTÖS will hold a protest outside Education Ministry and Lefkoşa Police Directotate

The Cyprus Turkish Secondary School Teachers Trade Union (KTOEÖS) and the Cyprus Turkish Teachers Trade Union (KTÖS) will be protesting outside the Education Ministry and the Lefkoşa Police Directorate tomorrow.

In a joint written statement signed by KTOEÖS leader Ozan Elmalı and KTÖS Secretary General Burak Maviş, it was stated that 22 teachers were called in for questioning by police after the protest that was held by the two trade unions in front of the Education Ministry on Tuesday, August 2nd.

“It should be known that we will not be silent against impositions, oppression and policies of fear,” the statement read and noted that an action will take place in front of the Ministry of Education at 10:30 and in front of the Lefkoşa Police Directorate at 11:00 tomorrow.

“We did not remain silent in the face of impositions, we will not remain silent. We will not violate the honor of teachers”, the statement added.
