7 UBP mayoral candidates announced

The National Unity Party (UBP) celebrated its 47th anniversary with a reception held at Elysium Park yesterday evening.
The UBP announced the names determined to compete in the seven regions of the upcoming local elections to be held on December 25th during the reception.
The reception was held with the participation of TC leader Ersin Tatar, UBP leader Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, Parliamentary Speaker Zorlu Töre, Turkish Republic Ambassador to Lefkoşa Ali Murat Başçeri, deputies, bureaucrats and party members, and representatives from the AK Party from Türkiye.
TC leader Tatar, Prime Minister Üstel and UBP Secretary General Hasipoğlu delivered speeches at the event. Following the speeches, the UBP mayoral candidates were announced:
Lefke Municipality: Adil Özgey
Beyarmudu Municipality: İlker Edip
İskele Municipality: Hasan Sadikoğlu
Değirmenlik Municipality: Ebru Törehan
Güzelyurt Municipality: Mahmut Özçınar
Gazimağusa Mayor: Dr Erdal Özcenk
The UBP will be supporting the current Mayor of Girne Nidai Güngördü, who will be competing as an independent candidate for Girne Municipality, it was announced.
It was stated that other candidates will be announced soon.
