A vehicle travelling on the Girne-Lefkoşa dual carriageway caught fire due to a fault in the engine at around 1.30 pm today.
According to a police report, firefighters were able to extinguish the fire.
As a result, complete damage was caused to the engine and the electrical parts on the driver’s side. The back seats of the vehicle were partially burned and the front and rear windows exploded due to the excessive heat.
Police are investigating the incident.
