TC leader Ersin Tatar issued statements on the agenda at a live broadcast of Haber Global. The Republic of Türkiye has always exerted its authority on the Cyprus issue, Tatar said.
Stating that a lot of blood would have been shed on the island if the Turkish soldiers were not present, Tatar referred to claims by the European Union: “There is no place for Türkiye on the island”.
This is unacceptable. This would mean destroying the Turks and completely expelling them from the island, Tatar said adding that it would be worse than Syria if there were no Turkish soldiers on the island. According to the Greek-Greek Cypriot duo the understanding of civilization is destroying Turks, he said.
“The UK has never fulfilled its duties”
We will never return to the old system in Cyprus, Tatar said adding that the Republic of Türkiye was a great state and would use its right of say.
The Treaty of Lausanne says that there are two sides in Cyprus. The UK has always failed to carry out its duties. The UK stood as a bystander whilst blood was shed following the atrocities carried out by the Greek Cypriots always adopting a stance in favor of the Greek Cypriots, Tatar said. “The UK has always stood by and watched, but the US is truly beyond me”, The US may be uncomfortable with the sovereignty of the Republic of Türkiye, we have a Republic of Türkiye backing us, Tatar said.
