Businesses in hair and beauty services protest

The Cyprus Turkish Union of Hairdressers, the Cyprus Turkish Union of Beauticians and the Cyprus Turkish Union of Barbers have announced that they will be holding protests against the hardships faced in the sector.
As part of their protest they will be calling on the Prime Ministry to continue with their career, by handing in the tools they use to carry out their trade.

“Although our revenues have dropped by 50 per cent in comparison with 2020, our rent payments have increased by double, and our electric and basic expenditures have gone up by 5 per cent” was the joint message given by the unions who have announced they will be protesting and that more detailed information on the actions to be held will be made clear soon.

In a joint statement the unions said that there is set energy consumption in the sector that is essential for air-conditioning throughout working hours, lights need to be on at all times, water must be heated, treats need to be served to customers. Electricity expenses are not directly proportional with income, they said.
