Bi-communal youth camp launched

A camp was launched in line with the Bi-Communal Empower project on November 19-20.
According to a statement by the Gazimağusa Youth Association, which is part of the organization, 57 young people attended the camp organized by workshops in Pelendri, South Cyprus, where common problems are discussed.
Workshops on human rights, peace and racism issues, organizing effective campaigns, more effective use of social media tools, and common problems experienced on both sides of the island were taken up.
The issue of one-sided history education given at schools and the necessity of reviewing this came to the fore during the workshops.
It was noted that a solution and cooperation proposals discussed at the workshops will be in a form of a booklet named “Innovative approaches to bi-communal cooperation” and presented to the use of non-governmental organizations and the two communities in Cyprus.
The Empower project is carried out by the Peace and Friendship Athletic Youth Club, Gazimağusa Avenue Garage and Gazimağusa Youth Association via the Active Citizens Fund (ACF) Cyprus program grants funded by Iceland, Norway and Liechtenstein through the EEA and Norway Grants.
