Minister of Public Works and Transportation Erhan Arıklı announced that the new airline company project has been laid off.
In his social media account addressing the public, Arıklı gave the expression
“A MANDATORY EXPLANATION… The New Airline Company, which we have been working on for a long time has been shelved following a step taken back by the related company. It is not right to mention the name of Çavuşoğlu and target him, as the reason behind the halt of the project on social media, Arıklı noted. Çavuşoğlu requested some regulations regarding the bylaws of the company to be established. Unfortunately, due to the delays of regulations for various reasons, the process halted and the investor company pulled back on the project. I would like to express my extreme sadness that Mr Çavuşoğlu was targeted on this issue… Mr Çavuşoğlu is a friend of mine whom I gave power of attorney to when I went abroad and whose experience and knowledge I trust immensely”
