Speaking on the “Haber Kritik” program on BRT, Prime Minister Üstel announced that the government had taken some measures to ease the economy and that they will announce a mini economic package in the coming days.
Prime Minister Üstel announced that a fifty per cent increase in the cost of living will be reflected in next month’s salaries.
“We will give the Cost of Living for the last 6 months, in the month ahead. A Cost of Living estimated at around 50% will be given as of August 1st. The Ministry of Finance is working on giving more to those who earn less and less to those earning more. Adjustments will also be made to the minimum wage. More contributions will also be made towards social services.” Ünal Üstel was noted as saying.
Also referring to the sea and airports, Üstel said that instructions were given for work to be finalized adding that work on the physical infrastructure at Ercan Airport will be completed in July, and expressed his belief that the airport will be up and running by the end of this year.
