Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources Dursun Oğuz said that the fire in the Ağıllar village has set off again. Oğuz has called on firefighters to come to the region.
In a statement, Oğuz spoke to the press following his aerial inspection by helicopter.
Stating that there were occasional sparks of fire due to the effects of the wind, Oğuz announced that the fire had ignited again in the Ağıllar village.
“Air and ground efforts are continuing, winds will get stronger and will increase more at midnight” Minister Oğuz warned.
Stating that a fire also broke out in South Cyprus, Oğuz said that the helicopters from South Cyprus had to return, but reassured that aerial efforts with helicopters from Türkiye will continue to battle the blaze in the north Cyprus until dark.
