Türkiye deploys a fire-fighting helicopter to North Cyprus

A fire-fighting helicopter was deployed to North Cyprus to combat the increased forest fires during the summer.


The helicopter belonging to the General Directorate of Türkiye Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry was deployed to the Forestry Department in Lefkoşa. The helicopter will primarily serve in North Cyprus and, if necessary, to extinguish fires in Türkiye.


The helicopter and its crew were greeted by Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources Dursun Oğuz and Director of the Forestry Department, Cemil Karzaoğlu, on Sunday morning. (05.06.2022)


The helicopter is expected to be stationed in North Cyprus during the summer period.
