Labour and Security Minister Hasan Taçoy met with his Turkish counterpart Vedat Bilgin in the capital.
During the meeting held at the Ministry, Minister Hasan Taçoy welcomed Turkish Labour and Security Minister Vedat Bilgin, who is holding contacts in the TRNC.
Minister Taçoy expressed his wish to strengthen the existing bilateral relations with Türkiye, noting, “Today, we will take steps forward to this end.”
Turkish Minister Bilgin said he is happy to hold contacts in the TRNC, noting that “There are loads to do to address the issues in the labour and social security field.
Bilgin continued: “Today, we will finalise the previously agreed protocols. We also have a deal, which was earlier agreed upon but postponed due to the pandemic, we will finalize it and do our utmost to allow its implementation.” “We hope to see further cooperation between the two countries,” he added.
Following the speeches, the two ministers, accompanied by their delegations, began the first meeting of the Türkiye-TRNC Labour and Social Security Joint Permanent Commission.
The two ministers are expected to hold a joint press conference following the signing of a cooperation protocol in the field of labour and social security.
Earlier this morning Turkish Minister Bilgin also has been received by President Ersin Tatar.
