The fire that broke out at the Yedidalga village at around 12:30 this afternoon was brought under control following teamwork by the fire fighting team, some establishments and the public.
According to information received from the Police, the Fire Brigade, Forestry Department, Civil Defense Organisation and Lefke Municipality and the locals continued to help in efforts to distinguish the fire that started in the hillside area in the southern part of the Yedidalga region.
The fire has been brought under control but cooling efforts are continuing. An investigation in to the cause of the fire is ongoing.
