It was reported that the fire that broke out yesterday in Yeşilırmak was caused by sparks from an angle grinder.
An individual who was working in an open space area opposite his residence yesterday caused the fire. Without taking the necessary precautionary measures, sparks from the angle grinder he was using caused the fire.
According to a police report, the fire was extinguished with the efforts waged by teams from the Fire Brigade, Civil Defense and Forestry Department, locals and a fire-fighting helicopter.
Damage was caused to the maquis vegetation and dry grass.
The person in question was arrested and an investigation is ongoing.
