Increase recorded in South Cyprus nationals entering North Cyprus

An increase of 371,1% South Cyprus nationals entering North Cyprus via air and sea in the first eight months compared to the to the same period last year has been recorded.
The Tourism Planning Department of the Deputy Prime Minister, Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment said that passenger arrivals to North Cyprus in 2019 was recorded at 173 thousand 315 due to the Covid-19 restrictions. It reports that despite not reaching the pre-pandemic figures, records show that the figure for 2022 is at 74% of the 2019 period with 816 thousand 408 passenger arrivals.
