Health Services are being halted

The Turkish Cypriot Doctors’ Union (TIP-İŞ) has announced protests in the health sector that will halt all outpatient services for the exception of operating theatres for anesthesia and reanimation clinics and intensive care units today.
Gynaecology, antenatal and postnatal outpatient clinics will also be halted at the Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital in Lefkoşa.
Staff will not be signing in or out for work shifts.
Head of the Turkish Cypriot Doctors’ Union Mustafa Taşçıoğlu, in a statement said that the strike action was due to the Health Ministry not solving the problems put forward in the health services sector. Action in the health sector will begin as of Monday and if necessary continue in the coming days if steps are not taken to solve the ongoing problems, Taşçıoğlu said.
