Yearly food inflation at a record high of 123.39%

The yearly food inflation in North Cyprus hit a record high in September at 123.39%.
While the September inflation was recorded as 120.32%, the food inflation climbed to 123.39%.
According to the Statistics Institute data, the price of bread was the highest recorded product in basic food with 154.14%.
Milk prices increased by 134.33% and poultry prices by 165.60% among the yearly basic food products, official data reports.
Meanwhile, out of the 40 heaviest products under the Consumer Price Index for the year ending September 2022, lamb chops rose by 61.15%, ground beef by 112.24, halloumi by 114.16%, yoghurt by 110.98%, and water-filled bottles by 95.07% products.
