According to the Meteorology Department, cool and humid weather is predicted for today. Temperatures will remain at seasonal norms and winds will be northerly and westerly moderate becoming stronger at times.
Skies will be slightly cloudy becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon. Showers and thunderstorms will also be in place, the met department reports.
Temperatures will be around 26-34 degrees inland and on the coast.
The capital Lefkoşa is forecast to be around 34 degrees Celsius.
FOREST FIRES RISK HIGH.
The Met Office warned of the risk of forest fires as winds will be blowing from the north and west at around 20-28km an hour.
BEWARE OF ULTRAVIOLET RADIATION!
Ultraviolet radiation is moderate. Light skinned people are advised not to stay exposed to the sun for longer than 15 minutes. The use of hats, sun-glasses and sunscreen is strongly recommended.
