Warning: Counterfeit money detected in Lefkoşa!

A total of 7 counterfeit 50 USD notes (amounting to USD 350) have been circulated by an unidentified person at a business place in Lefkoşa between 3rd-4th December. The serial numbers of the fake 7 USD 50 bank notes are as follows MB 70450502A, MB 31427441A, MB 31427443A, MB 70442693A, MB 70451495A, MB 70451506A, MB 31427770A Police issued a warning that the fake USA 50 dollars may have been circulated beforehand and therefore issued a call on banks, foreign exchange bureaus, finance companies, markets, and citizens to be extra cautious and look out for the serial numbers when making purchases or sales. The police also called on the public to report anyone that they believe to be suspicious.
