The Dr Fazil Küçük Foundation has proposed for the new airport to be named Dr Fazıl Küçük International Airport.
In a statement by the Dr Fazıl Küçük Foundation, it said that initiatives for the Dr Fazıl Küçük International Airport have been put forward.
Countries give names to the most valuable people of their country, especially to their airports in gratitude for the great work that they have done.
It has been requested that the new built airport be named after the Turkish Cypriot people's leader Dr Fazıl Küçük in memory for his achievements.
