Independent candidate Nikos Christodulides won the second round of elections held in South Cyprus today.
Nikos Christodoulides and Andreas Mavroyiannis competed in the second round of presidential elections in South Cyprus.
Nikos Christodoulidis secured 51.91 per cent (204 thousand 633 votes) while Andreas Mavroyannis received 48.09 per cent (189 thousand 592 votes).
The turnout of voters was 72,2 per cent.
Out of 561 thousand 273 registered voters, 406 thousand 626 (72.45 percent) voted in the polls.
394,225 votes were considered valid and 8,422 invalid.
3,979 ballots had no markings whatsoever.
Official results will be announced at 10 pm tonight.
