Police Headquarters issued a warning against social media fraudsters. The warning is as follows: “Some individuals have filed complaints that they have become victimized when trying to purchase items via Facebook such as furniture, home goods, etc. Although the ads via Facebook are original, ill-intentioned individuals are fraudulently taking payments from our citizens.” It has been detected that a social media page user named ‘Woden Moreart’ has falsely obtained 30,000 TL from a citizen via a bank account by deceitfully showing furniture and household items on a Facebook page on social media. The public has been warned to be vigilant and in order to avoid similar grievances, not to make any payments to accounts for sales via social media platforms without physically seeing the item.
