PACE Rapparteur visited Maraş

Rapparteur for the Commitee on Political Affairs and Democracy of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Piero Fassino is holding contacts in North Cyprus to evaluate the current situation in Maraş and prepare a report.
According to the statement made by the National Unity Party (UBP) press office, Fassino who made his first visit to Maraş this morning, was accompanied by UBP MPs Oğuzhan Hasipoğlu, Özdemir Berova and Republican Turkish Party (CTP) MP Armağan Candan.
Gazimağusa Mayor İsmail Arter who also attended the visits gave information about the public spaces opened.
Fassino, will respectively pay a visit to President Ersin Tatar, the parties represented in the Parliament, the Immovable Property Commission and the Cyprus Foundations Administration (EVKAF), tomorrow (08.06.2022) to get information and consult on the fenced-off town of Maraş. Fassino will depart from the island following official contacts in South Cyprus.
