Ministry of Foreign Affairs "Our airspace was not violated!"

The Turkish Republic of North Cyprus (TRNC) Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement refuting allegations that the TRNC airspace was violated by US warplanes. In a written statement by the TRNC Foreign Ministry, it said that the recent claims published in the Greek Cypriot press that warplanes belonging to the United States of America (USA) violated TRNC airspace did not reflect the truth. “It is obvious that sources from the Greek Cypriot administration are attempting to create meaningless tensions by publishing false news on military issues”, the statement said. It should be known that any activity taking place around our country’s airspace is closely followed by our relevant institutions, the statement noted adding that it was observed that the warplanes in question returned without making any violation of TRNC airspace during their activities.
