Alongside the host of the event Mayor of Lefkoşa Mehmet Harmancı, President Ersin Tatar, Parliamentary Speaker Zorlu Töre, the former 4th President Mustafa Akıncı, MPs, the US ambassador to Lefkoşa, municipal mayors, bureaucrats, representatives of civil society organisations, the sports community and citizens gathered in front of the Lefkoşa Turkish Municipality building. Speaking at the event, the Mayor of Lefkoşa Mehmet Harmancı said, “Lefkoşa is the Capital of both Love and Loyalty. Luckily, we are all together”. Lefkoşa once again proved massive solidarity, Harmancı said adding, we are together for our elders who illuminate our path with their experiences and illuminate our city with just a smile. As a show of respect for our elders, we are gathering as one, Harmancı is cited as saying. “For our elders, we are lucky to have Lefkoşa, we are lucky to have Cyprus”, LTB Mayor Harmancı stated.
