Health Ministry in South of Cyprus announces 13 more deaths due to COVID-19

The Health Ministry in South of Cyprus announced on Friday that 12 COVID-19 patients, three women and nine men, died of COVID from 15 to 21 July while 10,152 new cases were traced with the positivity rate reaching 9.14%.
Minister of Health, Michalis Hadjipantela said yesterday after the meeting Scientific Advisory Committee, that they will be preparing a roadmap for the autumn season, which will include another type of diagnostic test that will not only detect the coronavirus but other viruses as well.
The roadmap will also provide guidelines on measures concerning the opening of schools based on the data available at the time, and how to proceed if any new mutations are detected.
Officials are continuously urging the public to get vaccinated to protect themselves from the coronavirus, especially those over 60 and the more vulnerable in the community.
