General Assembly convened for an extraordinary session

The Parliamentary Assembly convened today at 3:20 pm.
The Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar is expected to brief the General Assembly on the Cyprus problem.
The briefing will take place in a closed session.
Before the briefing, the memorandum of proposals put forward both by the UBP and CTP groups on the agenda of the Legal, Political and Foreign Relations Committee for the elections of the Municipality Mayors, Municipal Council, Muhtar and Board of Elders to be held on December 25, 2022, was read out.
The urgency of the proposal, which also includes the continuation of the authorities of the local governments, was unanimously accepted.
The motion to authorize the relevant committee to work on the proposal while the General Assembly continued was also voted and unanimously accepted.
A 10-minute recess was given to the session.
