Flexible tariff on electricity will begin November 1st

The flexible tariff (time of use pricing arrangements) on electricity consumption will begin November 1st. According to the decision published in the official gazette, consumers wanting to switch to the flexible tariff will need to apply to the Cyprus Turkish Electricity Authority (KIB-TEK). Consumers using the solar energy system and ‘net’ the difference between energy use and energy generation are not eligible to benefit from the flexible tariff. A fixed price on electricity usage and fuel cost will be calculated between 7 am and 5 pm, considered normal hours, according to the flexible tariff for electricity. Electricity consumption between 5 pm and 10 pm, considered peak time, will be 1.2761TL. And electricity consumption between 10 pm and 7 am, will be charged at 1.1344 TL.
