Fire in Alsancak and Malatya

A fire broke out in the village of Malatya, the west of Girne as a result of a high voltage line breaking last night.

Meanwhile, another fire broke out in Alsancak but the cause has not yet been determined.

According to the police press bureau, the high voltage line on Dağbaşı Street in Malatya village broke at around 9.30 pm.

Dry grass in an area of 200 meters square has burned as a result of the fire.

Meanwhile, an olive tree and dry grass in an area of 50 square metres burned as a result of the fire that broke out in Old Milos in Alsancak.

Both fires were extinguished by residents, police fire-fighters and teams from the Forest.
