Delphinium Caseyi plant is now being protected

Voice Kıbrıs Haber
The Delphinium Caseyi plant only found in Cyprus with only 100 detected will be protected with the collaboration of the Turkish Bank, the Cyprus Wildlife Research Institute, the Environmental Protection Department, and Bayrak Radio Television Corporation.
In a statement by the Cyprus Wildlife Research Institute, it has been stated that there are only around 100 Delphinium Caseyi-type plants and that the species of the plant is critically endangered on a global scale.
With a protocol signed the other day, the first phase of the project between the Cyprus Wildlife Research Institute, the sponsor Turkish Bank, and representatives from its Keep Green Team will last for 3 years, the statement noted.
In line with the protocol, a safe zone will be set up for the protection of the Delphinium Caseyi plant against external dangers such as humans and goats and that every species will be marked and coordinated with the project pursued by the Cyprus Wildlife Research Institute, it said.
The statement said that the seeds will be collected and stored in the Cyprus Seed Bank, which continues its activities under the sponsorship of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), in line with the work carried out by the Cyprus Wildlife Research Institute.
The project will include written and visual studies and workshops to increase public awareness about the species.
