Counterfeit notes warning!

Three people were arrested for possession of counterfeit notes following a raid on Saturday at around 8.30 pm, by a team from the Police General Headquarters in Girne.
Two 50 US dollar banknotes with serial numbers (MB35429070A) and (MB59129658A) were detected on a 32-year-old and three 50-dollar banknotes with serial numbers (KB8303542L) (KB83035450L) and (KB37835824L) on a 41-year-old and were confiscated following the police raid at a hotel in Girne.
A 43-year-old believed to have connections with the incident was arrested and an investigation is ongoing.
Stating the possibility of the circulation of fake notes beforehand, police issued a warning to the public buying or selling or exchanging money or for banks, foreign exchange bureaus, financial establishments, and markets, that may have the bank notes with the mentioned serial numbers to be cautious and to report anyone they believe to be suspicious to the nearest police station.
