CMP found remains thought to belong to a Greek Cypriot from Akova

The Committee on Missing Persons (CMP) in Cyprus announced yesterday that the remains thought to belong to a Greek Cypriot were found during the excavation of a Persian wheel at the village of Akova (Gypsou) in the Gazimağusa district.
The committee reported that human remains were found 5 meters deep during the excavation drill at Akova.
In a written statement, the committee said that following the excavation work the anthropological analyzes of the remains will be sent to the conservation section of the CMP Anthropology Laboratory in the United Nations for the creation of a biological profile by determining the age, height, and gender.
DNA analysis will then be sent to laboratories in America.
In the case of a positive match, the remains will then be returned to the family for burial.
