CMP discovered human remains in Esentepe

The Committee of Missing Persons (CMP) has discovered the remains of a missing person in a forestry area of Esentepe.
According to information obtained from the Turkish Cypriot member office of the Committee of Missing Persons, it was reported that the remains of a missing person were found in Esentepe, to the west of Girne, following work carried out by the committee in the north of Cyprus.
Excavation work is continuing at the site by a team of archaeologists, following the notification of a citizen, it reports.
The committee reports that apart from work carried out in Esentepe, excavation work is also continuing in five areas of North Cyprus,(Güzelyurt, Zeytinlik, Yeniceköy, Geçitkale and Ötüken).
Furthermore, it reports that work to find missing Turkish Cypriot Deputy Cengiz Ratip and Turkish Cypriot teacher Turgut Sıkkı is continuing in a forest area in the Pomos village, northeast of the Arnavut Burnu in South Cyprus.
The Committee of Missing Persons said that the success of the committee was thanks to the sensitive citizens who shared information.
The CMP called on anyone who has any information on a missing person to come forward and call 181.
The call will be free of charge and kept confidential with no records registered, it said.
